Any damage to our most important tool can leave us feeling completely helpless. Hand surgery not only deals with diagnostics and treatments for acute and chronic damage to the hands, as the name may lead us to believe. It also deals with defects of the shoulder, upper arm, forearm, hand, finger, and thumb, the treatment of damaged phalanges, tendons, ligaments, carpal bones and wrist, and the therapy of chronic illnesses, including various forms of osteoarthritis, circulatory disorders, bone conditions, compression of nerve and tendon sheaths (carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS)), “trigger finger”, or changes in the connective tissue of the hand or arm. Our main objective will always be the quick and lasting restoration of function, as well as the preservation and recuperation of a sensitive, well-padded and therefore prehensile, strong, and pain-free hand with full mobility.
