These include disorders of the heart and circulatory system, the lungs, digestive system and kidneys, or metabolic disorders, life-threatening emergencies and tumours. The services of these specialists also include diagnostics and prevention of infectious diseases (infectology and tropical medicine), poisoning (clinical toxicology), and the study of the impact of physical training and sports on healthy and sick individuals (internal sports medicine).
